Congratulations to 5th grader, Lillian Perrine for being the first to complete Mrs. Burrow’s 50 state challenge! All students have been challenged in library skills to read a book and test over each of the 50 states!

We are so proud of the addition of two new basketball goals to our playground. Thank you to all the parents that sold chocolate bars last school year. Without those profits, the purchase of these goals would not have been possible!!! We can't wait for the kids to see these on Monday!
Special shoutout to Landon Turner and Brad McGhee. They spent several hours of their own time pouring concrete and setting the goals in place. They both go above and beyond for our building and always do whatever is needed.




Middle School teachers are on a roll! We are happy to announce another teacher earning a new designation! Ms. Gabi Hill has demonstrated proficiency in the Arkansas Teacher Leader Model Standards for Lead Professional Educators. Congratulations!


The Southside 4-H Food Pantry was nominated by Arkansas State Representative Shad Pearce to receive a grant from the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance annual Serving Up Solutions fundraiser. Thank you to Mr. Lance Whitney from the Hunger Relief Alliance and to our State Representative, Shad Pearce for thinking about us and supporting our food pantry!


Paige Miller, director of Arkansas Energy Rocks, recently spoke to our 6th grade students about the importance of energy production, prices, and usage!
Our students left with knowledge of how important Arkansas's production in the energy industry is.


Lucas Martin, Education Program Specialist at Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, came and spoke to Mrs. Fennell's Hunter's Education class. The students loved seeing his animal furs and traps! Thank you, Lucas!

SMS Student Council and Mrs. Mead’s Intro. to 4-H enrichment worked hard Tuesday transporting, sorting, and organizing all of the food donated during the Battle Hunger food drive last week! They all worked so hard in the heat! We are so proud of them and their servants’ hearts! 💙💛

The Southside 4-H Food Pantry needs your help! The shelves are empty and we need them filled. The annual food drive will take place next week, September 9-13.


After School Tutoring will begin next week, September 9th! No need to enroll, just let your child's teacher know that your child will stay for tutoring. All students must have transportation. Tutoring will be held in the middle school library and is free of charge.
