Spring Break is almost here! Schools will be closed from March 24–28 for Spring Break. Take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. We’ll see you back in class on Monday, March 31!

Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Thursday, February 13th from 3:30 - 7:00 pm.

Congratulations to SCHS Bowling Teams! The boys finished as 4A-3A East Conference Runner-Up, and the girls finished in 4th place. Boys All-Conference Team: Braxton Waggoner - 3rd overall Peyton Barnes - 4th overall Bryce Carter - 7th overall Royce Brucher - 10th overall Girls All-Conference Team: Alexis Hahn and Faith Sharp —tied for 8th overall Both teams will participate in the 4A-3A State Tournament next Wednesday at Ozark Lanes in Fayetteville.

The Southside Charter HS Southerner Robotics Team competed and won during the tournament at the Hurricane Winter Classic held at Jonesboro High School today. This win qualifies the team to play in the state tournament in April at Arkansas Tech University. Congratulations to our Southside Robotics Team! Way to go!

Business Tech English toured Gillihan’s Body Shop, learning about various trades within this local and family-owned business. Thank you, dad and sons, for sharing your time and knowledge with these future workers! ———————- Congratulations to junior Trey Dixon, who was recently chosen to be an Ag Tech for Greenway. According the Matt Carter, manager at Greenway, “Trey will be helping the mechanics and helping parts. SCHS Beta Club attended the Arkansas State Beta Club Convention where all 23 attendees participated in some competition. Congratulations to our winners James Drummond (campaign skit that involved 17 members), Madison Reed (poetry and speech), and Zoe Ring (language arts), all earning an invitation to compete at nationals. Beta thanks Mary Thompson for chaperoning and busdrivers Mr. Crumby and Mr. Jeremy for transporting the Betas.

The Southside Technology Student Association attended the Wolf Technology Showcase in Hot Springs on November 21. The teams competed in the Problem Solving Competition and won first place and third place overall. More than 335 students from 20 schools were represented from across the state. Congratulations to Emily Pedraza, James Drummond, and Eli Martin for winning the competition! Congratulations also go out to Adrian Ziranda-Ring, Brayden Moser, and Maxwell Northcutt for finishing in third place! Students also attended breakout sessions to learn more about their state competitions coming up in the spring.

As part of National Scholarship Month, we're excited to spotlight the Roger Rich Scholarships. Two $500 scholarships are available to graduating Southside seniors who plan to pursue higher education—one based on merit and one on financial need. A huge thank you to Roger and Lisa Rich for making this opportunity possible for our students and helping support their dreams!

In honor of National Scholarship Month, we're excited to feature the Kimberly Moore Memorial Scholarship. This $1,500 award is available to a graduating Southside Key Club member who demonstrates exceptional leadership, citizenship, academic excellence, and community cooperation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Batesville for offering this incredible opportunity to support our students' futures!
