Our 5th grade science students recently explored physical changes in matter through one of the sweetest experiments so far - making homemade ice cream! As part of their unit on matter, students observed how a liquid mixture can transform into a solid through the process of freezing.
Working together, students measured ingredients, sealed their bags, and shook them until the mixture changed form - discovering firsthand how temperature affects the state of matter. The lesson was both hands-on and delicious, combining science concepts with a fun, memorable experience that made learning come to life.
