Happy National Assistant Principal Week to the very best, Brad McGhee. His contributions to student success often happen behind the scenes, but do not go unnoticed. Southside Middle School runs smoother because of his hard work and dedication on a daily basis. #bettertogether

This week, Ms. Macy’s art students celebrated spring by recycling old papers and using them to create seed bombs! Students used wildflower seeds so that they could throw them in the grass and encourage more flowers to grow this spring. Apparently some of the seeds couldn't wait until they were in the grass to start growing!

Mrs. Mead’s students wrapped up “Heat Transfer” by exploring ways to melt a chocolate bunny and by investigating ways to pop popcorn by transferring heat through Conduction, Convection, and Radiation. They had great fun…and didn’t even set off the smoke alarm!

SMS Student Council was able to present the STEAM Club a check for $400 from their recent sucker sales! This money will help to fund future trips and other expenses. 💙💛
