Students across our elementary school had a fantastic time celebrating Freedom Week from September 22–26, 2025. This annual observance, part of Arkansas state standards, gives students a chance to explore and appreciate the freedoms we enjoy in the United States.

In first grade, Ms. Holzer’s class shared their favorite freedoms through writing. One student wrote, “My favorite freedom is playing outside because I like to play in my backyard.” They also practiced skills in other subjects by coloring patriotic designs by number, using red, white, and blue stars as game pieces while practicing “ng” words, and graphing with a red, white, and blue spinner.

Other grade levels incorporated Freedom Week in creative ways too, connecting lessons about liberty, civic values, and responsibility to reading, math, and social studies. Through hands-on activities and discussions, students learned that the freedoms we enjoy every day are something to celebrate and understand.

Freedom Week is not just a lesson in history—it’s a chance for students to see how these values connect to their own lives and learning every day.
