Head Football Coach, Brian Reardon, announced that he will be stepping away to pursue another head football coaching position for the Newport Greyhounds. Reardon has been a part of the Southside Football Program for 12 years, ten as the Defensive Coordinator, and two as the Head Coach. We appreciate the time Coach Reardon poured into the program, and are sad to see him go. “I’ve loved every minute of my last 12 years at Southside. I wouldn’t have taken a phone call from any other school in the state besides Newport, because it’s home. I’ll certainly miss the people of Southside; thanks for everything!” In light of this news, we are happy to announce that Kenny Simpson will step in to resume the head coaching position. Simpson was the head coach for the Southerners from 2011-2019, and returned for the 2021 season as the Offensive Coordinator. “I’m very excited to be back working with a great staff and kids. Southside is a special place, and I hope to do the best I can to impact these great young men.”

Both soccer teams play at home versus Mountain View, starting with the girls at 4:00. Tonight the varsity baseball team has a game at home at 4:30 against SS Bee Branch. The soccer teams travel to Heber Springs to play their games, starting with the girls at 4:00.
