Bus Snow Routes
Good Afternoon Southside Students and Parents,

First and foremost, we understand that the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance and we take the responsibility very seriously. In conjunction we also understand the importance of our children’s education and the need for our families to return to their respective places of employment.

With that said, after much consideration of the aforementioned collaboration with county officials and other school districts, Southside School District will return to classes on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026.

In order for this to occur we have made several adjustments to our daily bus routes to ensure that our students are provided the safest means of transportation possible.

Please see the list below for details concerning your students bus schedule and route information.

All of this will also be sent out to your respective REMIND apps.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this stretch of difficult winter weather. We hope this provides a much needed lift for everyone and we anticipate some warmer weather and sunny days ahead.

Thank you,
Chris Ellis, Asst. Superintendent
Director of Operations

This week, Ms. Tabitha and Ms. Ashely’s class has been exploring how rain forms and how water moves through hands-on activities. Using shaving cream to represent clouds and spray bottles to create rain, they practiced observing, predicting, and experimenting in a fun and engaging way! These activities supported early science skills, fine motor development, and language growth as the children described what they saw and used newly learned weather terms, all while encouraging curiosity and creativity through play-based exploration!

Ms. Kelsie and Ms. Liz's class are learning about Mat Man! Mat Man helps children learn about their bodies by building a person step by step using hands-on pieces and movement. These lessons strengthen fine motor skills, body awareness, listening skills, and early pre-writing skills—all while having fun! We love watching learning come to life through play.
