Mat Man helps children learn about their bodies by building a person step by step using hands-on pieces and movement. These lessons strengthen fine motor skills, body awareness, listening skills, and early pre-writing skills—all while having fun! We love watching learning come to life through play.

January 2026 has been designated as School Board Member Recognition Month, and we are proud to recognize Eric Low, President of the Southside School Board.

This week Ms. Kiera and Ms. Carol's class are learning about the 5 Senses of Christmas. They explored many smells that are around us this time of year. They worked together in groups to explore and talk about the scents. Then played a game where they had to guess the scent in the ball. Throughout the day the students were able to continue to explore the scents and talk with their friends about their favorite smells and the smells that they did not like.
Ms. Heather and Ms. Rachel's class have been making ornaments and decorating their tree this week!🎄

Ms. Maryah and Mrs. Autumn's class have been working on their fine motor and hand eye coordination skills!
Ms. Maggie and Ms. Hannah’s class are gearing up for the holidays with some fun fine-motor turkey activities!
Ms. Aileen and Ms. Kasey’s toddler class made play-dough turkeys to start off our Thanksgiving activities!
Room 4 have loved spending time outside -- running, laughing, and soaking up the beautiful weather! There's nothing better than learning and playing under the sunshine.
Little officers were on the case today in Ms. Kelsie and Ms. Liz's class! They worked together to match police badge numbers and put them in order -- practicing number skills while keeping the classroom safe and fun!
Today Ms. Tabitha and Ms. Ashley's class explored the 5 senses through interactive learning stations. They engaged in activities that allowed them to see, hear, smell, taste, and touch in a fun and exciting way. Hands-on learning makes exploring the world around us even more magical!

Mrs. Valerie and Mrs. Allison's class has spent the past few weeks engaging in outdoor play, exploring bubbles, and participating in imaginative play. By integrating these activities, the class supports toddlers' physical and cognitive development while fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity about their surroundings.
