Originally from Lake Hamilton area, where she was a part of winning a 6A State Championship in both volleyball and basketball as an athlete. She earned multiple awards from All-State honors to the 6A Volleyball State Tournament MVP. Coach Rains then attended and graduated from Lyon College where she played basketball and volleyball for the Scots while earning a degree in History, a minor in Physical Education, and a Concentration in Secondary Education. She is currently in her 9th year leading The Lady Southerner Volleyball Program. She has earned 4A Central Coach of The Year in 2015 & 2020 .The volleyball program has been to the State Tournament 8 years and has won multiple conference championships & conference tournaments.She was recently inducted into the Lake Hamilton Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022. She has a three year old son, Zane who also keeps her on the go.
