For more than four decades, this gym has been home to countless memories shared by players, spirit squads, families, and our entire community. These moments and traditions have helped shape the pride and spirit of Southside and will be cherished for generations.
To commemorate the final games, we will honor this historic moment with special presentations following the final game of the night.

First and foremost, we understand that the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance and we take the responsibility very seriously. In conjunction we also understand the importance of our children’s education and the need for our families to return to their respective places of employment.
With that said, after much consideration of the aforementioned collaboration with county officials and other school districts, Southside School District will return to classes on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026.
In order for this to occur we have made several adjustments to our daily bus routes to ensure that our students are provided the safest means of transportation possible.
Please see the list below for details concerning your students bus schedule and route information.
All of this will also be sent out to your respective REMIND apps.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this stretch of difficult winter weather. We hope this provides a much needed lift for everyone and we anticipate some warmer weather and sunny days ahead.
Thank you,
Chris Ellis, Asst. Superintendent
Director of Operations
