Athletic Update Week of October 21 - 26
We continue celebrating National Principals Month by recognizing the amazing Mr. Rick Keller at Southside Elementary!
1st grader Trace Stevenson shares why he’s such a fan:
"I like Mr. Keller because he's a nice guy and he always gives me a hug. He's a good principal because he keeps us safe. My favorite thing about Mr. Keller is when he sings the Pledge of Allegiance."
From his heartfelt hugs to his special way of starting the day with a song, we’re lucky to have such a caring and dedicated leader! Thank you Mr. Keller for all of your hard work and dedication at Southside Elementary School.

Just a friendly reminder that Fall Break starts this Wednesday, October 16th! There will be no school from October 16-18. Take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy some fall fun! We’ll see everyone back in class on Monday, October 21st.

In honor of National Principals Month, we’re highlighting the wonderful Mrs. Alicia Skipper of Southside Elementary!

2024 Homecoming is only one week away! We hope to see the whole Southerner Community on Friday night, October 4.

7:00 pm - Kickoff vs. Cave City
Save the date for Senior Class Mock Interviews on Wednesday, December 11th! This event offers our students a valuable opportunity to gain real-world experience. The insights and guidance they will receive from our community are priceless as they prepare to step into life after graduation.

Your Future Story, is Our Future Story
This week kicked off BookNook and MathNook High Impact Tutoring programs in the middle school and junior high. These learning opportunities are in thanks to a generous $148,000 grant!
This incredible funding will allow us to provide personalized, high-quality tutoring for our students, helping them grow in both literacy and math.
Stay tuned for more details, as this program and these students continue to grow.
Your Future Story, is Our Future Story
The High School Game of the Week will feature the Southside Southerners and the Pocahontas Redskins senior boys football game. The game will be streamed on Facebook LIVE and YouTube beginning approximately 6:35 pm on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Soncom Media Productions and NEA Sports showcase the student athletes of northeast Arkansas by highlighting them during the 2024 football season with a live broadcast of The High School Game of the Week.
Exciting news! The brand new high school and junior high cafeteria is opening on October 7th, 2024! Students will start enjoying their meals in this amazing space starting that Monday. Get ready for a fresh dining experience!
